System Updates and Announcements
DNSSEC for Domains
ResellerClub is happy to announce that we have launched DNSSEC (DNS Security Extensions) for .ORG and .ME Domains. We are in the process of launching this for other gTLDs and ccTLDs as well.
Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) is a technology developed to protect against malicious activities like cache poisoning, pharming, and man-in-the-middle attacks. It adds digital signatures to a domain name’s DNS to determine the authenticity of the source domain name. DNSSEC is a set of extensions to DNS that provides to DNS clients (resolvers):
- Origin authentication of DNS data
- Authenticated denial of existence
- Data integrity
DNSSEC uses a digital signature to create a chain of authority. Then, it uses the chain to verify that the source domain name, which the DNS resolver returns, matches the DNS record stored at the authoritative DNS. If it cannot validate the source, it discards the response. This ensures that the user is connecting to the actual address for a domain name.
The above mentioned details are for your information only. This is already live and does not require you to make any changes.
Changes in Get Details API Call
This information is for our API users only. We will soon be making changes to the Get Details by domain-name API call. The result of this call will now have normal contacts as well as privacy protected data (if the domain is Privacy Protected).
Please note that Get Details API call which takes in order id remains unchanged.
Update on pricing of .NAME Domains
We’re also happy to announce that despite the Registry increasing the prices of .NAME Domains by $0.60, we’re NOT passing on the price hike to you. You can continue to offer .NAME Domains to your customers at the same price as you currently do.
Please Note: If you are receiving specific pricing for .NAME Domains, it will increase subsequently by $0.60 starting 1st of August, to keep in line with the increased Registry pricing.
Should you require any additional information about these announcements, please feel free to get in touch with us or leave your comments below.
