New gTLD Report – August 2017

The new gTLD performance for August is out! .TOP has moved from position 6 to the number 1 spot this month with .XYZ taking the number 2 spot. .CLUB and .MEN are our 3rd and 4th highest performing domain extensions for August. .GDN, which was at position 2 in July, has taken the number 5 spot for August. Just like July, .WORK continues to be a part of our top performing new gTLD adds. We have a new entrant in our monthly reports – .TODAY. 1. .TOP – China’s most preferred domain extension is literally back on top and has taken a massive 37.1% share of new gTLD adds for August. Our China program has strongly contributed to .TOP’s outstanding performance – approximately 94% of .TOP registrations have come from China this month. Also, .TOP was running at a promo price of $1.99.
2. .XYZ – The domain extension continues to run at a special promo price of just $0.99 and has taken nearly 15% of our new gTLD adds. In case you missed this, you can get 1.111B class of .XYZ domains for just $0.93 for adds, transfer-ins and renewals
3. .CLUB – .CLUB has moved from position 4 to position 3 this month and continues to be a part of our report for the past few months owing to a flat 90% off promo running on the domain extension. A major chunk of .CLUB registrations have come from our Global program. You can get .CLUB for just $0.99 this September.
4. .MEN – .CLUB and .MEN have exchanged places for August and continue to be a part of our top 4 for August as well. Our China program has once again taken a fair chunk of .MEN registrations and has grabbed a 92% share of adds. .MEN continues at a special promo price of just $1.99
5. .GDN – The Global Domain Name ranks at number 5 for August (and number 2 for July), no surprises there. Just as I had mentioned in my previous report, .GDN has been running at a special price of 79 cents which could be the reason for why it’s still in our top 5.

.WORK continues to be a part of new gTLD report just like the previous month and you can get it for $1.49 only. Radix new gTLDs as usual remain in our top 15 list. .TODAY is our new entrant for the month. You can get it at a rock-bottom price of just $1.99. There has been no change in promo price for .TODAY in 2017. It’s been running at the same promo price mentioned above and in spite of that, it made it to our top 15 new gTLDs for the month.
