As we closed the first month of the second quarter with the launch of Themes, Logos and Plugins, we saw a consistent increase in our sales numbers for the new gTLDs. We witnessed a 30% jump in the total counts as compared to the previous month. There were minimal changes in the positions of the top 5 new gTLDs during the month with .XYZ retaining its top spot, uncontested. Apart from securing the first position, .XYZ also experienced a 73% increase in its total counts. Another new gTLD that has been able to hold onto its position for a while is the .TOP domain extension.
Here’s a precise summary of the prominent domain extensions for April:

.XYZ – Well, as we all know that .XYZ has been performing phenomenally well month on month with a promo price of $0.99, we can say that this new gTLD has been successful in connecting with internet users around the world. .XYZ took up 68% of the total share of new gTLDs sold during the month.
.TOP – Compared to the previous month, although there was 11% drop in the sales of .TOP, this new gTLD was able to grab 14% of the total share and once again secured the number two spot for the month. .TOP was running at a price of $0.99 for the month.
.SPACE – The race among the two Radix gTLDs – .SPACE and .ONLINE continues and during this month it was .SPACE that took the lead. .SPACE was trending at a promo price of $4.99 which was comparatively higher than the previous month.
.ONLINE – Although .ONLINE swapped positions with .SPACE, the second quarter augurs well for this gTLD as more than 1000+ .ONLINE websites have been recorded in the Alexa top 1 million list according to its registry, Radix.
.SITE – Since the top 5 list has been more or less similar to the previous month, it’s not that hard to guess that .SITE was able to hold onto its fifth position. This month, we also saw a 2% spike in the sales of this gTLD compared to the previous month. .SITE was running at a promo price of $4.99.
While we had .COMPANY and .BLACK as the new entrants for the month, unfortunately .GDN was not able to hold on to its position in the top 15. This could probably be because there was no promo running on this new gTLD during April. Another Radix gTLD that performed well was .STORE which was able to move up a rank to the sixth position. .SHOP which was running at a promo price of $2.99 and also made it on the list as one of the new entrants for the month.
