You don’t think.. this time you are not in the competition, have you checked what your competitors are offering.. check wildwest and enom.. they are beating you in price.
You should consider it, to retain your customers.

@ashish: actually that is not true, Enom has also announced their new prices and they are more expensive than what we are offering. You can verify it from their website:

Actually the new prices are quite competitive compared to rivals.
keep it up.

I think this will further reduce our volumes. Until now people would buy multiple domains. However, now that every here there is a price hike, people will be reluctant to buy multiple tlds and would prefer to stick to 1 or 2 perhaps. This is definitely going to hamper every one’s volume.

@Rohan,
Thanks for you reply.. Your reply indicates your people blog seriously. Keep it up!
I think you have missed wildwest

Domain market is very competitive, so we need to think about everyone, else why customer will join us! I have expected bit more from you!

thanks for pointing it out Ashish. You are right, WildWest is definitely cheaper but at the same time their program caters to a totally different type of reseller so we don’t compare ourselves to them. In fact they have always been cheaper than us and if it hasn’t affected your business yet I don’t think it will impact your business post the price hike.

@ashish
wildwest is basically a reseller company of godaddy.com and godaddy does not have automatic provisioning system as compare to the directi or enom.
prices are hike due to the registry cost which is recently increased by verisign on july 2010.
so all the registrar who are using the registry services of verisign has increased their prices.
in fact the actual annual cost is $6.86 to $7.34 for .com and $4.23 to $4.65 for .net
registrars earning is only 1 dollar from this hike.
so we cant blame any registrars who are using the registry services of verisign…
“simple living and high thinking” when we r considering the directi
